Foreigners entering the country on visa-free.
Entry by e-visa or tourist visa from March 1, 2020 to now continues to be “automatically extended temporary residence” until the end of September 30, 2021, can exit during the above period without having to carry out temporary residence extension procedures.
Case of entry before March 1, 2020
– If proving that it is trapped by covid-19, certified by the Diplomatic Representative Agency in a Note (translated in Vietnamese) or with a written confirmation from the Vietnamese competent authorities about being isolated, treated for Covid-19 or other force majeure reasons… also consider applying “automatic temporary residence extension” until the end of September 30, 2021 and must present the above-mentioned Notice or confirmation document upon exit.
Foreign nationals during the period of “automatic extension of temporary residence” must declare temporary residence and medical declaration as prescribed.
Foreign nationals are not subject to section 1 of this Notice or other violations of law, complying with current provisions of Vietnamese law.
