1. What is a Visa?
According to the provisions of the 2014 Law on Entry, Exit, Transit, and Residence of Foreigners in Vietnam, a visa (thị thực) is a document issued by a competent authority of Vietnam that permits a foreign national to enter Vietnam.
2. Requirements to Be Granted a Vietnam Visa
- ● a) Possess a valid passport or international travel documents.
- ● b) Have an inviting or sponsoring agency, organization, or individual in Vietnam.
- ● c) Not fall into any categories of suspended entry or restricted individuals.

d) In the following cases, the visa application must include documents proving the purpose of entry:
– Foreigners entering for investment purposes must provide documents proving their investment in Vietnam in accordance with the Law on Investment;
– Foreigners practicing as lawyers in Vietnam must possess a professional practicing license in accordance with the Law on Lawyers;
– Foreigners entering for labor/work purposes must obtain a work permit in accordance with the Labor Code;
– Foreigners entering for study/educational purposes must provide an acceptance letter or document from a certified Vietnamese school or educational institution.
3. Required Documents for Vietnam Visa Application
- ● a) Business Registration Certificate / Investment License of the sponsoring entity in Vietnam;
- ● b) Tax code registration certificate / Official corporate seal registration sample;
- ● c) 2 passport-sized photos (2x3cm) with a white background;
- ● d) Original passport with at least 6 months of remaining validity;
- ● e) Local temporary residence declaration form.
4. Steps to Obtain a Visa (for Investor Visa and Work Visa)
Receive detailed information from the client and collect all necessary preliminary documents.
Prepare the application application file according to the specific criteria mentioned above. Send the completed forms to the client for corporate confirmation, signature, and seal stamping.
Submit the complete visa application application file directly to the Vietnam Immigration Department – Ministry of Public Security.
Track the progress and receive the approved Visa outcome from the Vietnam Immigration Department.
Securely deliver the passport with the valid Visa stamp and all associated corporate legal documents back to the client.
