Conditions for visa extension
Foreigners with valid passports, visas (except for visa exemptions), temporary residence certificates issued by Vietnamese competent authorities, residing in Vietnam and not “not yet allowed to enter Vietnam” or not subject to “suspension of exit”.
Step 1: Prepare the dossier in accordance with the law.
– Profile composition:
+ Declaration of request for issuance, supplementation, amendment of visa and temporary residence extension (form NA5 circular No. 04/2015/TT-BCA).
+ Passports or documents valid for international travel of foreigners.
– Number of applications: 01 (one) set.
Step 2: Apply:
– Foreigners lawfully residing in Vietnam shall submit their dossiers at the offices of the Immigration Management Department, provincial police and centrally-affiliated cities.
Step 3: Get the results:
– The person who receives the results of giving the receipt to the officials returns the results of examination and comparison; if there are results of temporary residence extension, request the person to receive the result of paying the fee and sign the receipt.
– Time: from Monday to Friday every week (except new year, holiday and Saturday, Sunday).
